This is a short video clip that is meant as a companion for our article "Introduction to PIC Programming Using C: Byte Lights With the ADC" at our website linked below.
This video demonstrates the functionality of the ADC of a PIC microcontroller. All the functionality in this circuit is controlled by a Microchip PIC18F4525 microcontroller. We use the PIC's ADC to convert an analog input of a variable voltage signal through a potentiometer to output a digital signal to 8 LEDs, that light up a binary number - the direct conversion from the input signal.
