Okay, now we want to use the continuity test function on our multimeter

And on this multimeter, the continuity test function is right here where this wave or sound icon symbol is at underneath the diode symbol

It's the same position on this multimeter as for the diode test

So to test for continuity, I need to switch my multimeter over to the continuity

test symbol and when testing continuity we want to see if there is a continual flow

load component but for demonstration purposes I'm gonna use this piece of red

wire so to test if there's continuity through this wire or if there an ability for current to flow from one end of the wire to the other I going to use the continuity test on my multimeter

I'm just going to hook the black lead or the black probe of my multimeter to one side of the wire

and I'm going to hook the red probe of my multimeter to the other end of the wire

and you can hear that there's an audible sound, the beeping sound, the continual beeping sound from the multimeter

letting us know that there is continuity through this wire. Current is able to go through the wire unimpeded

Now, if I were to take my snippers and cut this wire

the sound goes off. So there's no more continuity between this wire because it's no longer connected

There's no longer the ability for current to go from one end of the wire to the other end of the wire
